Philippians 4:8“whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think about such things.”
So much of the Christian life is just learning to wait well. Waiting for a job, waiting for a spouse, waiting for news, waiting for hope, waiting for answers, or even waiting for death. Waiting is the backdrop of this passage in Philippians. Paul says at the end of Philippians 3 that “our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a savior from there…” More than anything else, the Christian life is the process of waiting well for complete salvation and restoration through Jesus. In this passage, Paul shows us that worrying is a waste of time and that the way we think determines how well we wait.
