Philippians 1:14 “Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.”
That through Jesus, we can reframe the way we see the world, not to minimize the hardships we face, but as an exercise of faith that whatever may come our way actually does have Gospel purpose that isn’t always obvious. Our struggles and setbacks can be used by God, and often the first step is lifting our eyes up from our situation to focus in on how God is at work. Paul’s example and his encouragement, is to truly allow Jesus to transform the way we see and interact with the world so that even when we are surrounded by hostility, our faith can not only survive difficult circumstances, but thrive.
