Philippians 2:5 “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…” Paul’s desire for the Philippians, and us, is that we would stand firm in the way of Jesus. His charge to us is that “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” The problem is that “whatever happens” is always happening. Family dynamics, cultural
tensions, job frustrations, even physical limitations threaten to be the foundation by which we build our lives, and subsequently, our attitudes on. The result is an unstable life that is shaped more by our circumstances than by our God. Paul invites us to stand firm on a foundation that is unshakable- and to reframe our attitude to be as that of Jesus toward every situation and relationship in life.
