Growing up into maturity starts with switching our thinking, but it continues with our words. A shift in our thinking is noticed by others through a shift in talking. Our minds inform our words, and our words create ways of interacting with the world. As the Spirit renews our thoughts and attitudes, our language begins to adjust. We no longer talk the way we used to- lies are no longer on our lips and anger doesn’t fill our body. Instead, we practice muscle memory by learning to put on our new nature that is given through the Holy Spirit.
