Oftentimes we think the way of Jesus involves a checklist of dos and don’ts, and many times this mindset can be perpetuated in the Church. But when Jesus invited us to this new way of living, He wasn’t calling us to embrace a checklist, but to encounter a deeper calling. A calling of being children of God that live in the light, and this means that our standards for life change. What we do, what we participate in, and our standards switch from being merely about what we shouldn’t do to discovering what pleases the Lord.
