Joseph, the favorite son in God’s favored family, received unique communication from God in the form of dreams. Through these dreams, God planted a vision of the future in Joseph’s heart. But this vision of the future wouldn’t be fully realized for decades. In the meantime, the dysfunction and distrust of Joseph’s family would’ve made it easy for him to question the source of these dreams. Was this just youthful ambition or was it the movement of God himself? Just like Joseph, when we’re seeking to understand the will of God, obstacles abound that can leave us feeling confused or discouraged.
