In Romans 13:1-7, Paul instructs Christians to “be subject to the governing authorities,” telling them, “rulers hold no terror for those who do right” and “For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good.” That sounds ... wrong. But it’s important to remember the context of Romans 13; that it comes after Romans 12, in which Christians are taught to submit to and love our enemies.
