From the series One at a Time
One decision has the power to transform someone’s life forever. This is clearly seen in the story of a brother who decided to tell his brother about Jesus. Andrew learns of this man named Jesus who has come to bring true life and a Kingdom that never ends, and the text says that
“the first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ).”
Andrew’s decision not only to follow Jesus, but to find his brother, became the bedrock by which his brother’s ministry began. Andrew’s decision propelled him to bring Simon Peter to Jesus. And Jesus used this introduction to invite Peter into a life where he would be used by God to establish the Church. This one decision of Andrew still carries a ripple effect that is felt even now. What might the world look like if we chose to look at every decision as one that either brings someone closer to Jesus or pushes them away from Him?
