Trials and temptations are all around us, that’s why the book of James cautions us of the consequences of sin. When we play it out, we realize that sin is not as good as it looks in the moment. And in the end, death will come from giving into desires that don’t align with God’s heart. So, James’ warning is to play it out, consider how that temptation could lead to full-grown sin that is deceitfully devastating so that we can experience the good things that God has promised us.
